Black Apple 04:34
We’re gonna have a party We’re gonna have a ball We’re gonna be dancin’ and singin’ When we watch the last one fall They’re all gonna go Up against the wall Up against the wall We know that day is comin’ We’re waitin for the call We’re gonna be dancin’ and singin’ When we watch the last one fall They’re all gonna go Up against the wall Up against the wall We’re gonna have a party We’re gonna have a ball We’re gonna be dancin’ and singin’ When we watch the last one fall They’re all gonna go Up against the wall Up against the wall We don’t know when it’s comin’ We’re waitin for the call Pass the ammunition And we’ll watch the last one fall They’re all gonna go Up against the wall Up against the wall

Ootsider 02:48
Every day it's the same he goes for a drink, that leads to ten Nobody knows, nobody cares Nobody sees when he's not there Every day it's the same, she goes for her script, then she goes hame. Nobody knows, nobody cares Nobody sees when she's not there Every day it's the same, you stand in line and you get the blame No money, no home, nobody that cares And nobody that knows when you're not there Every day it's the same we're all just numbers in the game Everyday day it's the same we're all just numbers in the game EVERYDAY IT'S THE SAME WE'RE ALL JUST NUMBERS IN THE GAME!

Wallpaper 00:49
Wallpaper is a funny thing It just hangs up on the wall And it’s made of paper And you put it on your wall That’s why it’s called wallpaper That’s why it’s called wallpaper That’s why it’s called wallpaper That’s why it’s called wallpaper!

about

The Fakes release Black Apple EP

Stirling band The Fakes release their first record for 40 years.

The Black Apple EP, on NewTown Products, debuts new songs Black Apple and Ootsider, and includes a reworked version of 1979’s Wallpaper.

The tracks are available for download here, now, and as a limited edition 7” vinyl EP. Digital distribution by Cadiz Entertainment. The band’s first album will follow later in the year.

The original Fakes, a punk/post punk/new wave band from Stirling, released one EP, Production, on Deep Cuts Records in 1979 but disbanded after drummer Brian Kemp was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident.

The 2020 line-up features original members Johnny McGuire on vocals and Jimmy McEgg on bass, with William Baird replacing Mairi Ross on guitar, and Lee McPhail on drums.

The Fakes are no real but they’re as punchy and relevant as they ever were.
